Harvest Moon is a playful autumn collection filled with smiling pumpkins, moonlit characters, spooky silhouettes, and just the right touch of Halloween mischief. Originally published as a decorative painting book and now available again as a digital eBook, it was Sandra Malone’s chance to step away from Christmas for a bit and create something fun for fall. As she explains in the original book, she wanted to offer ornaments and designs that weren’t always Christmas. 

Warm pumpkin oranges, earthy browns, soft greens, and touches of unexpected color bring these designs to life. Smiling pumpkin scarecrows appear on tags and ornaments, caramel apples add a sweet harvest touch, and whimsical moons, ghosts, spiderwebs, and colorful Spooky Candles carry the collection into Halloween. Throughout the collection, Sandra mixes washes, shading, spattering, decoupage, fabric painting, distressed finishes, and little dimensional details for that wonderfully handmade look. The projects also lend themselves beautifully to other surfaces, so the patterns can easily become inspiration for your own fall creations.
